In 1973, South Broward High School became Senior Class President and started and led the school's Sport Car club. In 1981, I began my law enforcement career at the age of 19 with the City of Sunrise and later became a member of the Broward County Sheriff's Department. During my time there, I had the opportunity to be a part of various units such as the road patrol, motorcycle unit, anti-racketeering unit, gang task force unit, S.T.O.P. unit, auto theft unit, and juvenile truancy unit.
I also served as the Sheriff's Driver/Bodyguard and was a member of the Dignitary Protection Unit. I received numerous awards during my 30-year tenure with the department and was one of the first members of the Motorcycle unit, eventually becoming their first certified Motorcycle instructor.
Outside of law enforcement, I became a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale and served in their Christmas pageant. I later volunteered at the Make-A-Wish Foundation and served as a volunteer at the Broward County Humane Society.
I am a member of The Hundred Club, which assists family members of fallen firefighters and law enforcement officers. Currently, I am a weekly attendee at Calvary Chapel church and serve as a greeter at the door entrance.
Despite my injuries, I was a good neighbor and helped with various tasks such as cutting lawns and cleaning pools for my neighbors. One of my greatest accomplishments is my son, Jeffrey, who has excelled in his education, career, and now serves as a Pastor. My greatest joy and inner peace come from serving our Creator, God.
