FL – Broward – Oakland Park

In 1973, I became Senior Class President at South Broward High School and started and led the school's Sport Car club. I began my law enforcement career in 1974 at the City of Sunrise and continued until 1981 when I became a member of the Broward County Sheriff's Department. During my time with the department, I served in various units including road patrol, the motorcycle unit, the Chiefs of Police anti-racketeering unit, the gang task force unit, the S.T.O.P. unit, the auto theft unit, and the juvenile truancy unit. I was instrumental in starting the Juvenile Truancy unit, which ultimately led to a decrease in home burglaries in the area. I also served in the Vice unit and as a Sheriffs "Driver/Body guard." I received several awards during my 30 years with the Broward County Sheriff's Office and was one of the first members of the reformed Motorcycle unit. I also became their first certified Motorcycle instructor. In addition to my law enforcement career, I became a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale in 1996, serving in various capacities including the Christmas pageant and as the lead security agent for the pastor and his family. I also volunteered at the Make a Wish Foundation starting in 2004 and continue to serve there to this day. I have been volunteering at the Broward County Humane Society for the past five years, where I started a security group to assist with their operations. I am also a member of the Hundred Club since 2017, assisting family members of fallen firefighters and law enforcement. Presently, I attend Calvary Chapel church and serve as a greeter at the door entrance. One of my greatest achievements is my son Jeffrey, who has grown up to be a polite and respectful individual. He received scholarships to college, got married, and now serves as a pastor with three children of his own. Despite my busy schedule with the Sheriff's Office, I always made time to be present for my son and provide for him. Now, my greatest joy and fulfillment comes from serving our Creator, God.
