FL – Broward – Parkland

about

1973 South Broward High School became Senior Class President and started and led the school's Sports Car club. In 1974, I began my law enforcement career at the age of 19 in the City of Sunrise. From 1974 to 1981, I was a member of the Broward County Sheriff's Department and had the opportunity to be selected into various units such as road patrol, the motorcycle unit, Chief of Police anti-racketeering unit (undercover narcotics), Gang Task Force unit (Multi-city unit), S.T.O.P. unit (narcotic undercover), auto theft unit, and juvenile truancy unit. I was also part of the Vice unit in an undercover capacity, focusing on areas like massage parlors. I received several awards during my 30-year tenure with the Broward County Sheriff's Office, including a full pension and benefits. I was proud to be one of the first four members of the reformed Motorcycle unit and later became their first certified Motorcycle instructor. In 1996, I became a member of First Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, where I served in the Christmas pageant for two years before becoming a volunteer in their Security team. I also volunteered for the MAKE-A-WISH Foundation starting around 2004 and have continued to serve as a volunteer. For the past five years, I have been volunteering at the Broward County Humane Society, where I helped start a Security group. I also interacted with Court-ordered volunteers to guide them towards a brighter future through open conversations about their goals and aspirations. I have been a member of The Hundred Club since 2017, assisting the family members of fallen Firefighters and Law enforcement. Presently, I serve as a greeter at the door entrance at Calvary Chapel church. Before my injuries, I was a good neighbor, often cutting lawns and cleaning pools for those in need. One of my greatest accomplishments is raising my son Jeffrey to be a polite and respectful gentleman. He excelled in academics, received scholarships to college, and now serves as a Pastor with three children of his own. Through all of life's challenges and accomplishments, my greatest joy and inner peace come from serving our Creator, God.
