FL – Broward – Lauderdale Isles

about

In 1973, South Broward High school became Senior Class President and started and led the school's Sport Car club. In 1974, from 1974 to 1981, I began my law enforcement career in the City of Sunrise at the age of 19. In 1981, I became a member of the Broward County Sheriff's Department and had the opportunity to be selected into various units, including road patrol, the Motorcycle unit, the Chiefs of Police anti-racketeering unit (undercover narcotics), the Gang Task Force unit, the S.T.O.P unit (narcotic undercover), the Auto Theft unit, and the Juvenile Truancy unit. I am proud of starting the Juvenile Truancy unit, which led to a decrease in home burglaries in the area. As a member of the Dignitary Protection Unit and due to my ethics and presentation, I became the Sheriff's "Driver/Bodyguard." I received various awards during my 30-year tenure with the Broward County Sheriff's Office and was one of the first four Motorcycle members and their first certified Motorcycle instructor. In 1996, I became a member of First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale and served in their Christmas pageant for two years. Later on, I volunteered in their Security team and became the Lead Security Agent for the Pastor and his family. Since around 2004, I have been volunteering at the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Broward County Humane Society. I am a member of The Hundred Club, which assists family members of fallen firefighters and law enforcement officers. Currently, I am a weekly attendee at Calvary Chapel church, serving as a Greeter at the door entrance. Despite my injuries, I used to be a good neighbor by helping with lawn maintenance and pool cleaning for my neighbors. One of my greatest accomplishments is my son Jeffrey, who has followed a successful path and currently serves as a Pastor. Throughout my life, I have found joy, comfort, and inner peace in serving our Creator, God. Additionally, I have been active in serving the Lauderdale Isles community and have many more non-law enforcement memories that I cherish.
