FL – Broward – Bonaventure

about

In 1973, I had the honor of being elected as Senior Class President at South Broward High School. I was also the founder and leader of the school's Sport Car club. Following my high school years, I began my law enforcement career at the young age of 19 with the City of Sunrise in 1974. From 1981 onwards, I served as a member of the Broward County Sheriff's Department, where I had the privilege of being part of various specialized units such as road patrol, the Motorcycle unit, the Chiefs of police anti-racketeering unit, the Gang task force unit, the S.T.O.P. unit, the Auto theft unit, and the Juvenile Truancy unit. I was also involved in undercover work with the Vice unit, specifically in areas such as massage parlors. One of the roles I am particularly proud of was serving as the Sheriff's Driver/Bodyguard, based on my membership in the Dignitary Protection Unit and the trust they had in my ethics and professionalism. Throughout my 30 years with the Broward County Sheriff's Office, I received several awards and accolades, including full pension and benefits. I was a founding member of the Motorcycle unit and the first certified Motorcycle instructor. I also served as a volunteer at the MAKE a WISH foundation and the Broward County Humane Society, using my experience to guide others on a positive path. In addition to my law enforcement career, I have been actively involved in community service, serving as a greeter at Calvary Chapel church and volunteering with The Hundred Club, which supports families of fallen firefighters and law enforcement officers. I also take pride in being a good neighbor, helping out with tasks such as lawn care and pool cleaning. One of my greatest joys in life has been watching my son Jeffrey grow into a respectful and accomplished individual. He pursued higher education, got married, and now serves as a Pastor, bringing me immense pride and happiness. Overall, my life has been filled with fulfilling experiences and meaningful connections, shaping me into the person I am today - a dedicated public servant, a caring community member, and a proud father.
